We did it! Six PA IPL members rode their bicycles to Washington, D.C. — two hundred miles in 4 days. We had a great trip, met so many wonderful people, and had great press coverage, such as this newspaper article before the trip, and this one about our send off. The Huntingdon Daily news also covered the trip here.

On April 22, Religion & Ethics Newsweekly broadcast a 10-minute segment on Interfaith Power & Light, including footage from our bike trip. Watch it here.

Thanks to over 75 generous donors who brought us to our goal of six thousand dollars for programs, such as energy assessments for congregations. We really appreciate your support.

Joining the group this year was 12-year-old Hannah Ballenger, on a tandem with her father, Jesse. Read Hannah’s letter here and her blog here. Hannah collected well over 100 prayers, drawings and well-wishes from children all over central PA. Joining them were Jon Brockopp, Andy Hayes, Dave Hunter and Ray Najjar.

They stopped in local congregations, colleges and CSAs to spread the word about PA IPL and emphasize our moral responsibility to respond to climate change. In Washington, they met with most of the PA congressional delegation.
